TheCerealPoet was first aware of They Might Be Giants in 1998 in high school, a coworker at his after-school job recommended them to him, and at that point he could recall Letterbox and Particle Man (possibly from Tiny Toons' Adventures). He bought his first album in 2000, and within a year he owned all of their albums that Best Buy carried.
