TheCerealPoet was first aware of They Might Be Giants in 1998, in high school, when a coworker at his after-school job recommended them to him. At that point he could recall the songs Letterbox and Particle Man (possibly from Tiny Toons' Adventures). He bought his first album the the next year, and within a year he owned all of their albums that Best Buy carried.
