Could this song be about gifted people?

I read your interpretation for John Lee, Supertaster, and while reading about your experiences with "gifted" children I realized how true this is.

I personally am "gifted," meaning I scored in the top five percent on some test. I got 59 out of 60 questions correct. This is practically unheard of (once someone answers 55 questions correct they are allowed, but not required, to stop. I actually enjoyed the test and so went on). The tester actually asked me how I figured out a certain question, most likely to make sure I wasn't cheating. When I explained it his eyes got very wide and he immediately went to alert my mom, who was patiently waiting in the next room. She was ecstatic, I was conflicted.

I've always had trouble relating to people my own age, my "gift" (which is more of a curse in my opinion) may be an explanation. As it is in my high school I have more fun with the seniors than with other freshmen. Writing is my forte and outlet. My friends marvel over my poems, songs (which actually kinda suck), and even class assignments. I read very "adult" books (political humor, specifically Dave Barry) and don't like the typical teenybopper music (I prefer classical and, duh, TMBG).

I don't think my parents were ever tested, but they are definitely both "gifted". Luckily for them they were never told as much. I'm constantly reminded of it. I'll never be normal. Aurora Hawthorne
