Dear Radio Programmer,

Bar/None Records is happy to announce the release of the first LP by one of New York's best new bands, They Might Be Giants.
In case you are not familiar with the band, let us take a moment to brag about their recent achievements:

  • They Might Be Giants first video "Put Your Hand Inside The Puppet Head" is now in rotation on MTV.
  • TMBG have been favorably reviewed in People magazine, NME, SPIN, The Village Voice, Matter, The New York Times, The Daily News, CMJ, NY Talk and others.

  • 'They Might Be GIants have made frequent appearances on the ubiquitous "Joe Franklin Show."
  • TMBG's video was selected by RockAmerica for their current reel.
  • They Might Be Giants will be touring nationally through Venture Booking starting in December giving everyone the opportunity to experience their exciting live show.

In April 1987, Glenn Morrow of Bar/None gave Twin Cities Reader staff member Martin Keller a press kit containing a vinyl of They Might Be Giants, a Dial-A-Song poster, a 1986 Bar/None photosheet, several articles mentioning the band and a letter which read:

I thought I would send you another copy of They Might Be Giants since the band is soon to be playing Minneapolis. (Monday the 13th at the Entry). The record is selling real well up there, the band is also planning to do an instore at Northern Lights. I imagine you can worm your way into the Entry with your own powerman of the Twin Cities status but I'll call just to make sure.
