Talk:Brain Problem Situation

From This Might Be A Wiki

Oh wow. This is a great song. Really great. --INeedACrane 18:36, 10 July 2007 (UTC)

Seriously. This song is full-on genius. Mr. 77
And it's made of funk, too! These guys are amazing. j2
It IS catchy. I found myself clapping to it. Sounds very different from the rest of The Else and the bonus disc, and it feels like it harkens to the old style of TMBG, whatever that was. But does it really excel to the extent that it's better that They'll Need a Crane, or The Mesopotamians? Might just be my personal preferences, but there are other TMBG songs that are more memorable than this one. -- J Navarro

VERY catchy. VERY Linnell. --tehbagel ( o ) 21:06, 11 July 2007 (UTC)

Man, this song sounds like it is going to be so awesome. Not only is it the only song I haven't heard, it's also rated number one right now! I am literally going to die waiting for the canadian release next week.--Jade 03:16, 12 July 2007 (UTC)
You mean America, Jr. has to wait until next week for this CD? Man, does that suck.--tehbagel ( o ) 03:50, 12 July 2007 (UTC)
Well, We're more like Mexico Senior... but yeah, next week.--Jade 15:27, 12 July 2007 (UTC)
Good old Europe too. I walked through rain and snow all Tuesday only to learn that The Else hasn't made it over the ocean yet. - Whirrrlwind (Woosh!) 10:24, 12 July 2007 (UTC)
You guys are in for a treat =]--tehbagel ( o ) 11:19, 12 July 2007 (UTC)
The record store just called me; I can order The Else now. Import. From the US. Gonna take at least three weeks, and I'll have to pay $30. Anti-wow. - Whirrrlwind (Woosh!) 16:48, 19 July 2007 (UTC)

I live in the U.S, but i thought if i bought it at borders i'd find out it wasn't there yet, and so i ordered it! COME ON JULY 15TH --GOTITW (gt2)

I live in the U.S., and on the second-to-last day of June, I convinced my mom to drive me to the record store on July 10th because that was when the Else came out. She then asked me why I hadn't boughten it off of iTunes, and I said, "Because I want the bonus disk"! And it's a good thing I got the bonus disk. This song is the maraschino cherry upon a pile of whipped cream and chocolate sauce of what would normally be a single, plain scoop of vanilla ice cream. --Bonkava 17:58, 12 July 2007 (UTC)

I bought the iTunes release the hour it came out, and picked up the CD on Tuesday. I have some money burning a hole in my pocket =P--tehbagel ( o ) 21:02, 12 July 2007 (UTC)

the song feels shorter than it is, 2:55 my- anyways, very catchy song, shorter than seems --Goodtimes9 Goodtimes9 Talk

Whoever voted less than a 9 or 10 to bump this off #1 has a real brain problem situation on their hands. Mr. 77

I gave it a 10, so it got bumped from 5 to 4! We can get it back! Seriously, CYPTTW is way, way better than I expected. --Patinthehat 15:47, 17 July 2007 (UTC)

Joking, right?[edit]

Good song... should be in the Top 100... but better than The End Of The Tour, They'll Need A Crane, Where Your Eyes Don't Go, etc? No chance in hell.

Soon come the anonymous users that vote it a 1 just to get it lowered in the rankings (or the registered users that give it a 6 to lower it because they feel anything less would make them look evil!) -CapitalQtalk ♪ 10:29, 19 July 2007 (UTC)
I don't think it deserves number 1 either. I mean, it's a good song, but I don't think it's better than most songs on The Else proper. With that said, I voted it an 8 (I think it was the first).
Or the morons who rate Ana Ng, Don't Let's Start, etc. a 1 to increase the ranking of this song? Perspixx 22:03, 19 July 2007 (UTC)
In my opinion, there's a lot of newer songs that are higher on the ratings than they should be. I remember that Climbing The Walls was number four for a while... I mean, I like that song, but I still don't think it should be number four. And the same for Brain Problem Situation. As far as I know, most new songs do linger at the top of the rankings for a few months until they start to settle in a more permanent location. Unless of course people keep making phony votes like that. Akagi 22:36, 19 July 2007 (UTC)

AAAAAAHHHHHH[edit]

Oh damn it, I wish I got the Advanced Listening Copy. This sounds like an awesome song. --ZippZapp 23:52, 12 February 2008 (UTC)

A patchy song. Linnell's bit is sung from a female point of view and she sounds like the character from Paul McCartney's early solo song "Another Day" 30 years on. Both character's put on their make up but Linnell's girl sounds a lot less optimistic that Macca's. It's brilliant up to the point of Flans' clunky contributions of the drunk in the drunk tank. It artificially extends the life of the song. Linnell's tight melody and careful lyrics are replaced by Flans apparently ad libbing along at the end. It's weak and cliched. Rare to see them share a song like this though. (Mr Tuck)

I think this song is brilliant; if it were on the actual album it would have been one of the best tracks on it. I love the weird, non-sequitor, indirect nature of the lyrics, the melody is catchy as hell, and the horn section f-in' rocks! It's the kind of song you wish would go on forever, in this way Flans' section really "makes" the song. --Oddjob 17:29, 4 April 2008 (UTC)
