Talk:Birdhouse In Your Soul (Alternate Version)
From This Might Be A Wiki
I don't have this CD, but isn't the alternate version and Birdhouse In Your Soul (Live NYC) the same song? The lyrics sure look the same. --Duke33 15:12, 24 November 2009 (UTC)
- Well, I don't have the NYC version, but as far as I can tell, the 'alternate version' and the Severe Tire Damage version are the same. I synced them and played them both at the same time and couldn't hear any difference, except for a few extra seconds of cymbals and crowd noise at the beginning of the alt. version, and Linnell's 'thanks very much' is more amplified on the alt version. It's a pity, really: I would rather have more NYC songs than double ups of STD songs. :( Limabeans 21:25, 24 November 2009 (UTC)
- Wait, is the NYC performance on Severe Tire Damage? I think all three are the same performance. Same with Ana Ng. ~※ Limabeans ※ 02:58, 19 December 2009 (UTC)
- Yeah, and so is She's an Angel - but Ana Ng is overdubbed, Birdhouse fades out at the end and all of them are shortened a bit on STD, so they're not identical. (I don't know about the alternate versions, though.) ~ blitzente (talk) 10:32, 19 December 2009 (UTC)
- Despite the 5-second difference, part of me wants to just wipe the "Live NYC" Birdhouse page, and mention on the Live STD one that the NYC/Clock radio recording leaves 5 more seconds at the start. They are from the same show, same song, from the same recording device after all. ~ magbatz 17:23, 19 December 2009 (UTC)
