Talk:(She Was A) Hotel Detective

From This Might Be A Wiki

If anyone cares, the two signs hanging behind the Johns in the music video say "Rock Music" and "Thrilling Powerful Chord." I felt like sharing. --Valerie 22:56, 21 October 2006 (UTC)

Is that really Flans doing the weird little falsetto singing in the background (singing behind on "hotel detective!") on the album version? ~ magbatz 03:20, 24 May 2007 (UTC) and ~ magbatz 06:44, 27 December 2007 (UTC)

I was sort of wondering that too, but to me it seems like Flans. -- Buzzmusic100 ("Keep your voice down...")

Is it just me, or in the screenshot on the page of hotel detective does flans look SO much like Edward off league of gentlemen, you know, "What's all this shouting, we'll have no trouble here" -Lachlan W 23:51, 19 January 2009

Title mistake?[edit]

I think a more accurate title to this song would be "(She's A) Hotel Detective". --The Mayor of Cowtown 22:02, 28 July 2021 (EDT)

The real "She Was A" is in She Was A Hotel Detective. --ColorOfInfinity (talk) 18:52, 29 July 2021 (EDT)

the 12 secret clues[edit]

ok, so in a nick rocks segment, the johns get really close the camera and say that the hotel detective music video will have "12 secret clues". does anyone anywhere have any idea as to what those clues were, and what they were referring to??

Likely just a joke by the Johns, and possibly a reference to people trying to read too much into their music. :) --Yomoneyboat (talk) 13:45, 31 May 2022 (EDT)
This was before my time, but it always sounded to me like they were reading copy there indicating Nick Rocks added visual "clues" on top of the music video (likely others as well) to hold kids' attention, or maybe even for a contest. But it'd be hilarious if the Johns were making it up on the spot just to mess with children. -CapitalQtalk ♪ 20:34, 31 May 2022 (EDT)
