Review by Bill Wyman, "Hitsville," East Bay Express, Apr. 1, 1988, p. 27:
They Might Be Giants (Saturday night at the B-Square) were fast and fractured and funny, just two guys named John singing songs about hotel detectives and shoehorns with teeth. John played accordion, mostly, and sometimes baritone sax; John played mostly guitar, though at one point they both wore three-foot-high sort-of fezzes. They also got the crowd to "scream like hell" for the needed sixteen bars, thereby adding a new, special dimension to "Hideaway Folk Family." Hitsville faves Divine Weeks, opening, were ferociously good as well.
