- This demo version has "live" drums. John Flansburgh explained in a 2019 Tumblr post regarding the recording:
[...] there was a year or so before the drum machines really took over where we made many demos with a pretty wide open set of sounds-kick drums created with a Mini Moog or on real drums, or by thumping a thumb on a microphone. Real snares, white noise snares. Some tape loops, some things that should have been.
