FROM FLANSBURGH: Hey everyone Flansburgh here. Just did some fun fun kids' shows with the Deeply Felt Puppet Theater. Great turnouts, and fun crowds-thanks to all for making it out.

We're going out on our national tour at the end of this week. (All the dates are at the bottom of this email) We're going to be in a lot of big cities doing free in-store shows, and in Seattle just a week or so from now doing a big rock show at the Experience Music Project (there is even a kids' show feature the Deeply Felt Puppet Theater the day of the show, so check that out too if you like puppets). The Chicago show at the Vic is our annual "Swearathon" show (we like to pick a different city each year) and although it is also a benefit for a good cause for kids, it is a very very adult show indeed. If you live round Chicago and want a family-friendly place to rock out- go to our Old Town School shows the days after.

SUPPORT YOUR INDIE FILMMAKERS- AJ Schnack and Shirley M, the creators of "Gigantic," have written this letter to y'all, but I want to ask you if you are interested in supporting indie film, and the people who work hard to get it to you, please feel free to get the DVD of "Gigantic" from their site. They're dedicated right-on brothers and sisters who need everyone's support. Go to www.giganticfilm.com to order right now, and get a free gifto to boot!

A LETTER FROM AJ and SHIRLEY Hey TMBG Fans,

First off, we want to thank all of you who have supported Gigantic through the past year and a half. When we began the project in March of 2001, we could never have hoped that the film would have such a wonderful run - more than 15 film festivals, theatrical engagements in more than 70 cities in the US and Canada, and now, the moment we've been waiting for, the release of the Gigantic (A Tale of Two Johns) DVD.

For those of you who haven't yet heard, we've packed the Gigantic DVD with more than 4 1/2 hours of extras, including a great feature-length commentary with John Flansburgh, John Linnell, Sarah Vowell and Director AJ Schnack. We've also included some vintage television and radio appearances that have never been released before (including the now-legendary performance of Birdhouse in Your Soul on the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson) as well as some of the classic music videos that first introduced the nation to They Might Be Giants. There's also never-before-seen performances, raw footage, interviews and deleted scenes featuring Conan O'Brien, Michael McKean, Ira Glass, Dave Eggers, Sarah Vowell and John, John, Dan, Danny & Dan. (Furthur details are on the website at www.giganticfilm.com.)

The DVD is now available for purchase at a number of online outlets, but we're hoping you'll pick up your copy from us, the filmmakers, which will greatly assist us and our continuing efforts to get this film to as many people as possible. Now, we can't compete with the mass retailers on some levels, so we're throwing in some exclusive extras that you can only get from us - limited edition postcards (from our film festival days - we only made 250 per batch and there aren't many left), the classic Gigantic posters as well as some surprise stuff (the contects of which even we aren't yet sure yet).

Plus we'll be shipping orders before Gigantic is available in stores, so you can be the envy of all the other TMBG fans on the block when you're the first to receive it. (PS - To make sure you get it fast, order 2nd Day Air shipping. It's just $5.50 more than the standard shipping and handling fee - everything else goes UPS Ground. PPS - Right now, we're only shipping to the US and Canada. Questions about anything, email info@giganticfilm.com.)

We can't begin to guess the number of times people came up to us after screenings to say that they had never heard or knew little of TMBG before seeing Gigantic. Some came because they're fans of This American Life, some because they'll see anything that Janeane Garofalo does, some because they read a great film review in their local paper. But no matter why they came, they left feeling that they had discovered something truly wonderful.

We've heard from numerous people that their parents or friends never understood the way they felt about TMBG until they dragged them along to see Gigantic. So, when you think about Christmas gifts this year, don't just give Gigantic to the TMBG fan in your life, give it to the uncle who loved A Mighty Wind, give it to the guy you work with who digs Weezer, give it to your parents so they can finally know what you've been talking about all these years.

But, first and formost, give it to yourself. Go to www.giganticfilm.com now and place your order and have it days before the rest of the country.

And thanks again for everything,

AJ Schnack and Shirley Moyers Director and Producer Gigantic (A Tale of Two Johns)
