Lyrics Talk:Purple Toupee

From This Might Be A Wiki

Does anyone who who "Martin X" is/was?

I'm assuming he's referring to "Malcolm X", but of course, the narrator is clearly a confused individual. --Duke33 09:11, 4 Apr 2005 (EDT)

Confused enough to conflate him with Martin Luther King Jr. I always thought. --Tisher 4 Apr 2005

Anyone hear "Stepped on my head" instead of "Stepped on my hair?" It's probably just me.--Lemita 08:28, 11 Apr 2006 (CDT)
Wait, now I hear "head." Sorry wiki. --Lemita 17:41, 27 Apr 2006 (CDT)

Hmm... I'm hearing the singular "toupee" instead of the plural "toupees" in the last line. We have to wear to pay? - The Silver Chauffeur 05:04 7 Apr 2007 (EDT)

the last line is "we have to exculpate"; yes it is a word, look it up[edit]

Do they no longer sell this album with the lyrics included? It's exculpate. Maybe they sing it differently now live or something, but that is the original lyric. -- 209.6.238.201 03:56, 18 March 2010 (UTC)

Really? Then why does google return zero hits? Sorry, but it is "we have to wear toupees". "We have to exculpate" doesn't even make sense, if you know the definition of "exculpate". --Duke33 04:09, 18 March 2010 (UTC)
Durrrr Gee, when did google become a better source than the band itself? -- 209.6.238.201 14:26, 18 March 2010 (UTC)
I see that you have a history of edit wars on wikipedia. I don't know if you're really serious about your "exculpate" claim or not. If you are, then all I would ask is that you provide some proof to substantiate your claim. It can be an MP3 of a live recording, or anything like that. Right now, there is nothing to back up your changes. Let's stop the unproductive edit wars, please. Thanks --Duke33 16:14, 18 March 2010 (UTC)
