Interpretations Talk:Lost My Mind

From This Might Be A Wiki

John Linnell is a private person[edit]

Amusing at the lengths Linnell will go to separate himself from his songs. An intensely private shy person he scratches his extrovert itch by being lead singer in his band. Lost my mind could be about fear of losing privacy. It's difficult to know as he's so disguised the lyrics with obscure metaphor nonsense. All this would be ok, but it lacks an emotional resonance with it's standoffish surreal obscurity. It's not helped by a cludding rock guitar riff. Plodding and lacking the whimsy of their early recordings when there were just the two of them and Bill Krauss the weak arrangement means that this song will not be one that stays in the playlist for longer than 18 months. Played on accordion it could be ok. Linnell has always been the most consistent Giant but two clunkers on Nanobots Ep makes one worry for the Long Player as we oldsters still call albums. (Mr Tuck)

That Wasn't An Interpretation, That Was a Review[edit]

So I'll review it too. I like this song a lot and I'm really looking forward to the album.

Apparently the point of this section is to get our opinions across rather than discussing lyrical content, and I do so want to go with the flow. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.129.204.85 (talk) 15:26, 27 January 2013
