|releases||Dial-A-Song, Power Of Dial-A-Song, Podcast 48|
|sung by||John Flansburgh|
- This was likely recorded as early as 1984, as the TMBG Unlimited MP3 of the 1984 "They Might Be Giants" demo features a tiny bit of this song, heard fading out at the very start of the MP3. On the podcast, Flansburgh states that the song comes from a 1985 demo tape, but he mentioned in a tweet promoting the podcast that it was from 1984.
- Dial-A-Song recordings of this song have sparser percussion than the one in Podcast 48, notably lacking the shaken tambourine heard during the ending of the Podcast version.
- The lyrics "Top of the heap, Kings of all we survey" may be a reference to Theme from New York, New York, with it's lyrics: "I want to wake up in a city, That never sleeps, And find I'm king of the hill, Top of the heap".
- Before its release on Podcast 48, this song was usually referred to by fans as "Hiya" or "Hi".
