If you're trying to find out which came first, I'm guesstimating that File:FirstPhoto.png comes from a 1983 photoshoot, as I've only been able to find Flans mentioning it as "1983" in a quick search. Photographer for the photo is Julie Kantner of the Turtlenecks^[1] and there's also extra bonus photos from the same shoot. "First press photo" could mean it was one of the first photos they ever had in a press kit, as it was in a 1985 press kit alongside this photo and some others I can't remember. Thanks, pretty much my thinking as well. All of that definitely implies a later date to me & it does look a lot like other 1983 pics. Kinda looks like the same photoshoot as this, which would place it firmly in 1983. I think you're right, its their "1st promo photo" just in the sense it was the first photo they used in press, not that it was necessarily the first taken. The stamped "THEY Might Be Giants" logo suggests it too. Thats my best guess anyway, wish there wasnt so much assuming involved in this stuff. --Batwho (talk) 09:42, 31 May 2024 (EDT)
