cub
From This Might Be A Wiki
cub was a Canadian "crush-pop" or "cuddlecore" band in the 1990s. The main members were singer and bassist Lisa Marr, guitarist Robynn Iwata, and drummer Lisa Gertrud Nielsen, and at one point the band included Neko Case. John Flansburgh discovered their song "New York City" while listening to the radio one day and fell in love with it. TMBG soon covered it on Factory Showroom and invited cub to open for them on their tour for the album.
