Category talk:TMBG in 4 Chords
(This talk page would have been made at Special talk:Categories, but I don't think you can do that with the Special stuff.) I know it's Wiki policy for all page titles to have capitalized first words. But not all Categories do. Categories are not as frequently edited, but they are often linked to and put at the bottom of pages, and it can be confusing to editors (or just one editor, as far as I know) to have to guess category names by trial-and-error. They need some standard. The category pages are:
- Pages that need to be cleaned up
- Releases without length
- Show pages missing setlists
- Show pages that need details
- Song pages that need details
- Songs without Lyric pages
- Songs without Run Time specified
- Songs without Singer specified
- Songs without Year specified
- They Might Be Giants (album) Shows
- and here
Normally I'd go ahead and move these categories without superfluously writing two paragraphs to explain myself as I'm doing now. But first I have to just go ahead and catch the attention of one of the Admins, because only they have access to Template:Song Info, Template:Song Nav Stub, and Template:Show Page, in order to adjust to the change in category names. In the couple of other places, while it probably wouldn't make a difference due to Redirects (which I assume still work the same for Categories), I might as well edit them. ~ magbatz 21:52, 19 April 2008 (UTC)
- And 30 seconds later, I find that you cannot move Categories. I now ask: What shall we do, then? The ones automatically regulated by Templates could just be solved by editing the templates and then cut-pasting the text of the categories' pages to their new homes and then doing the same manually for the others. Or is it not worth the effort? Input please! ~ magbatz 22:01, 19 April 2008 (UTC)
- I agree that each word should start capitalized. It would be a very dramatic change if we allowed this kind of capitalization in normal song pages and the like. The last response I remember getting was "Meh, well MediaWiki lets you start a word in lowercase now." --badqueso 22:20, 19 April 2008 (UTC)
