Freaky Flans voice
Anyone else notice that the freaky Flans voice is very similar to the one used in "Nice Is Good, Mean Is Bad"? -TVsKyle 00:11, October 18, 2006
"Takin' it to Talk Page"
I'm very certain the second voice in the introduction is Linnell. I'm sure I can't do anything to convince prospective editors this is true, and my own edits are reverted. What can I do to get my truth, which I believe to be the truth, up here? Are we going by consensus or by wiki-tennis? It's odd to me how folks seem to be Linnell-vocal deficient 'round here. I blame the cult of Flans' personality. :) --RonAmoriM 17:38, 21 October 2006 (UTC)
- I honestly don't hear how the second voice (We've got songs! Songs!) is any different at all from the first one. To me, it sounds like Flansburgh just dubbed himself in to sound like there's someone else there. But I'd like to see if anyone else disagrees, and if the majority does, we'll add Linnell to the page. -CapitalQ ♫ talk ♪ 22:39, 21 October 2006 (UTC)
- It's clearly Flans. TVsKyle 22:59, October 23, 2006
Linnell crazy
If you ask me, everyone here seems to be a little Linnell crazy. I mean, look at the song ratings for like, the first 25 or 30 songs. Puppet Head used to be around #10, but now Linnell's taken over on the wiki. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Magbatz (talk • contribs) 17:00, October 21, 2006
- I agree. His Minions are Everywhere. Don't go to sleep - that's how the pods get you! You go to bed, you're fine, but the next morning, there you are in front of the stove, scratchin' yer grey chin stubble, drinkin' yer java black, and wearin' an L.L. Bean striped crew-neck long-sleeved sailor shirt.
- There is not much you can do about the editorial policy here at tmbw - they decided at some point that Cecil is Flans except on podcast 2A. There is a consensus, but it is among the wiki editors only, and they have final say. I have also taken a turn on this editorial merry-go-round, RonAmori, because I am not even convinced that either man is Cecil. No official word has been offered by Flansburgh, and, to me, the speeded up recordings sound like a much younger man with a similar accent to Flans. This editor groupthink problem is just a foible that wiki-editing in general is heir to, a feature of human cognition even among earnest even-handed editors, so we'll just have to live with it, I'm afraid. However, at some point, someone in the band will settle this, I hope, so feel free to wait patiently for that. :) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 140.147.154.106 (talk) 10:44, October 24, 2006
- It's all good. That's the nature of a wiki--the majority make the "reality". Regardless of how sure you are of any given "fact", if you're outnumbered by contrary opinions you are "wrong". Doesn't change what I believe, though. It's the reason I take anything learned through wikis with a grain of salt. :) For the record, I agree with Cecil as being portrayed by Flansburgh on every podcast but 2A (Linnell).--RonAmoriM 14:56, 25 October 2006 (UTC)
