Left-field but hits the mark

Very much a Linnell song it is has all the unorthodoxy that you find on the first two albums: stop start music signatures, amusing lyrics and non-rock band instrumentation. The band still writes songs in this tradition but are reticent of putting them on mainstream releases, not that it matters given that we all stream. But, if the album still is an artform this would have been a welcome addition to I Like Fun as it would have provided a welcome change of pace. Moreover it's a lot better than than most of the I Like Fun tracks. Sounding like the Residents if they'd ever tried to play it straight as a new wave band this is my favourite new Giants song since, I left my body. Linnell sounds like he's having anything like fun on some of the recent album tracks but he's obviously enjoying himself here. Bravo! (Mr Tuck)
