A review of the show by Gordon Lewis
Durham Morning Herald, Jul. 3 1987:
And finally, a combo I have reported on before. They Might Be Giants (John Flansburgh, guitar/vocals and John Linnell, accordion/sax/vocals) is as potent as ever, spinning out some of the cleverest lyrics and memorable tunes around. Using pre-recorded backup to their advantage, this pair crates songs such as Hide Away Folk Family, Nothing's Gonna Change My Clothes and I Hope That I Get Old Before I Die (all from their LP, to be reviewed at a future date) plus new songs such as Purple Toupee.
They parody everything under the sun (and that too), as well as themselves, to produce some of the most original, fun sounds available.
