Mary Prankster

Mary Prankster opened just one show at the 9:30 Club in Washington, D.C. in August 1998. She appeared as part of a radio promotion with then-WHFS DJ Lou Brutus and to promote her debut album Blue Skies Over Dundalk. Her songs at that point were very vulgar and many of the titles cannot be said in polite company. Her performance upset many parents who assumed a TMBG show would be kid-safe, but she also made many new fans. This was during the "Power Trio" version of her band, featuring Jon E. Cakes on bass and Phil "The Machine" Tang on drums. She thanked TMBG on her next album, Roulette Girl.
