Although not stated directly, indirectly, or even referred to, this song is clearly about the taste aversion created in most people by mixing foods that have no business being chewed at the same time (in this case, pickles and peanuts). The reference to Istanbul, Constantinople, New York, and New Amsterdam show this clearly as all residents of these areas, past and present, know this to be true. Thank you for your consideration.
