Trivia/Info
- This song's title may have been inspired by Nick Lowe's "Half A Boy And Half A Man". When asked about it on Tumblr in 2023, Flansburgh said:
I LOVE Nick Lowe, and I must have heard the song, and although I never got that record, I knew the title. (Music was and expensive hobby in the mid 80s, and songs were not so casually accessed!) The phrase was perfectly common, and I would imagine it was just in my head, but seeing the Nick Lowe title could easily have kicked things off.
- This version and the Dial-A-Song recording both use the same vocals, while instruments on both recordings seem to be split apart. This version only contains synthesizer, whereas the Dial-A-Song recording contains drums and guitar instead.
- This song was listed on an early 1987 song list, possibly for the band's second album.
- This song was originally known as "The Writing's On The Wall" by fans before its inclusion on Clock Radio.
