Talk:Radio They Might Be Giants
Anybody else notice that on Podcast 22A there is a short song that seems like a jingle for Radio TMBG? Sorry if this was too obvious or something.
- Yes, Radio They Might Be Giants 2 and Radio They Might Be Giants 3 have actually been used in podcasts a few times. Akagi 19:58, 6 May 2007 (UTC)
I saw that in an article (the idioms and cliches one?). I was talking about 2.
Song List
Does anyone have a listing of songs that were available on this service, or was nobody keeping track at the time? I remember a few: the Radio TMBG jingles; all the songs from Long Tall Weekend; Polk, Edison and Maybe I Know on wax cylinder- I only remember this because it was the only place I could hear them at the time. Also, apparently the slow "Finished With Lies" could be added to the list.
This was a long time ago though, 1999. --Oddjob 20:34, 8 October 2007 (UTC)
- I've talked about this some here. If I have time, I'll try to add more info later (from what I remember). ~Drew
I remember "Working Undercover For The Man" being first released through Radio TMBG. "I Might Be Giants, Too" was also on the rotation. One of the cool things about Radio TMBG was the short stories for each song. I remember "Drinkin'" had an amusing story. I think "Don't Cry" was on there (or dialasong.com). The biggest problem with Radio TMBG was dial-up was still mainstream at the time, so the bit rate was low and the songs often had choppy playback. I don't recall there being a wealth of rarities like the podcasts have, but there were a few gems. I agree on the songs mentioned above. thevince 30 April 2010
