::Jeez, guys, the Venue Songs project wasn't a songwriting contest...their only goal was to create a song, often a humorous or parodical one, that represented the venue and would get some cheers, and/or, especially with the case of Anaheim, laughs out of the audience. For this song, Linnell (if he even wrote the whole thing- just because he sings it doesn't mean he wrote it) decided to write a song poking fun of the type of audience he'd possibly expect to gather at the Anaheim House of Blues...therefore the music, style of singing and references to pornography and crack-pipes are all fairly relevant. I suppose he figured that most fans and followers of the band would be able to get the joke and not think of this as a serious attempt at songwriting... -{{User:CapitalQ/Sig}} 21:48, 2 August 2006 (UTC)

I suppose Q is right, we are making a big deal about a song that was written for the people of Anaheim, and I'm sure they enjoyed it. Maybe we should just not listen to the song if we don't like it, eh? - {{User:Herwwiyal/sig}}/ 07:26, 3 August 2006 (UTC)

I HATE this song. No, I'm not even going to grace my comment with the word "song"...I'm going to call this a "piece of garbage"...so my comment will read, "I HATE this piece of garbage." This song almost sent me over the edge from loving Them to hating Them. Luckily, it's the only one of its kind, and hopefully will stay that way. I could slap Linnell muliple times for writing this. I find it repulsive. Maybe it's because I'm female...either way, that doesn't change the fact that this is a very "male swine" type of song. - Overjoy

I agree about this song being horrible and disgusting. Only good thing about it is the noises Flans makes. --Valerie 17:25, 2 August 2006 (UTC)

Although I like all of the songs by TMBG I have heard (including this one), this is definately at the bottom of the list. I'm not that musical, and I can recreate this fairly easily, meaning this song wasn't very well written. I like the "Good Night Mrs. Hitler" at the end, for no particular reason, and the noises that Flans makes, but apart from that this song is pretty bad. I can understand that they only had a very short time to write this, but all the other Venue Songs (especially Dallas) are much better than this one. I like this song, but if it was any worse I wouldn't listen to it at all. Also, I don't really like the references to Crack/Hash-Pipes and Pornography, I just think it makes the song worse than it already is. = ( Herwwiyal ? )/ 18:03, 2 August 2006 (UTC)

Hehe, the very last line was good, but I don't think it makes up for the rest of the song. I noticed that after I wrote my little rant up there, I was in a serious Linnell-hatred mood. So I listened to Flansburgh-only songs for a while until I was over it. But, really, all these people called Linnell a melodic and lyrical genius...he really screwed those opinions with this song. I just pray that "Anaheim" isn't anyone's first TMBG song...they'll hate Them. - Overjoy
