MediaWiki 1.21 has beta support for a language called Lua. By installing the Scribunto extension, TMBW.Net will be able to replace parserfunctions calls with custom Lua code. Lua is reportedly faster, and should cut down on CPU utilization. In addition, it is more flexible than the current parserfunctions that we utilize.
The following templates should be investigated and converted into Lua modules, once we are on 1.21:
