[edit] Live performances and time

Hey, I noticed that you're putting a lot of work into putting performance data on a lot of the songs and I have a couple of comments. You do know that most of this information is very time sensitive, right? Specifically the "current repertoire" and "recently performed at" parts of it. I think that in order to future-proof the wiki, we really should avoid putting this kind of information on pages without any way to track where it's been put. Otherwise we'll easily have inaccurate data and outdated pages that have been forgotten.

Another note: I'm just curious as to how accurate it is in the first place. I don't mean to imply that you don't know what you're doing or anything, but where are you getting this information? Surely you haven't been to every show they've played, and I hope you're not relying on TMBW's show pages or "What links here" as reference for "never been performed live" and such, they are missing countless shows and set lists.

On the third part of your additions (I know this seems like I'm picking apart your edits. In a way I am but hey, I've got something to say!): the "first played at" dates are a good idea, it's a definitive date that won't change. See our discussion on this very idea over at the TMBW To-Do List. It's an idea that's died down primarily because it's such a massive undertaking, but you seem like you might be up for it and that could reinvigorate others to help.

So I'm just trying to start up a dialog here. What is it that you are trying to accomplish exactly? You just kind of started up and ran with it. --badqueso 01:45, 22 February 2007 (UTC)

I'm using the "what links here" page for the songs to see which ones are listed in the live setlist database. It's obviously going to get a lot harder, and once I go back a couple albums, I'm not going to be able to know for sure what the first or even last performance is, so I'm either not going to fill them in unless I know for sure (like I know that a BUNCH of songs were premiered at 4/21/93 - I have a bootleg of that show where they keep saying this), or list it as "first/last known performance". I'm considering songs in the current repertoire if they have been played within the last year. At this point, it's pretty fair to say that if the Spine/ABC's songs haven't been done since 2005, they probably won't be showing up in concert until they are purposely revived. What I am accomplishing is a researched timeline for the history of live songs - stating when they started being played, and when they stopped (or if they're still around). I'm also using that listing rather last played for current songs, because otherwise 20 pages would have to be changed every time they do a concert. Once a song hasn't been played in over a year, it can fall out of the current repertoire status. It's as accurate as the TMBW setlist database is, which I have also been working on to make more accurate, to the best of the knowledge I have at hand. --Richegreen 02:11, 22 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Upside Down Frown

So, have you really heard Upside Down Frown? --Duke33 17:54, 2 May 2007 (UTC)

Yes, along with the rest of the album --Richegreen 22:51, 6 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] With the Dark Intro

If you're gonna put With the Dark on the setlist, there should at least be a "With the Dark Intro" page; I feel the setlist is for the songs that were only played live. With the Dark has only been played live a few times...if it's the walk on music it should be a page called With The Dark Intro. There are several other intros on the setlist for different tours, but I have a problem with the With the Dark one. --WhatIsThatThing 20:26, 31 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] About the credits pages...(response)

Sorry. Copying and pasting has its downfalls. But seriously, maybe "synth flute" is okay, but you're just nitpicking with things like "drawbar organ" and "rock organ" when those are all just keyboard noises. Either way, it's not my decision. I don't know what the admins' opinions are --WhatIsThatThing 02:58, 13 August 2007 (UTC)

I'll compromise with you on organ, but they're all just sounds coming out of the same instrument. --WhatIsThatThing 03:04, 13 August 2007 (UTC)
