Call me Filene-- Nathan and SoreThumb don't apply[edit]

I came out as trans* in October 2014, and have been transitioning throughout all of 2015. Much of the below doesn't apply anymore, but if you want to learn more about me, I'm on Twitter as @FindingFilene. Some day I'll be able to expend the effort and update this page to correspond to my latest TMBG-fanness.

PS: TMBG, don't ever stop. You are a gold mine for those who find you, and I want you to be a timeless resource. I'm sure we can arrange this somehow. ("The Definitive TMBG Collection?" sold in MP3 form online until the year 3000? No idea. How does Descartes continue to get people reading about him?)

Hey, Nathan/SoreThumb here.[edit]

Until I get a photo up in a way that follows Wiki policy and looks good, use this. A picture of me in line at the last TMBG show I went to (4/3/2013)

My "Glean" Interpretation Series[edit]

Really loving Glean, truly impressed with the mood and writing on this album. TMBG have honed their talents over music itself over decades, and that persistence shows itself in the great lessons these songs teach. (May 27, 2015)

My "Join Us" Interpretation Series[edit]

I recently (May 16, 2013) felt that there was a strong theme to the album, "Join Us."

Ultimately, while I know TMBG could be talking about "Joining the TMBG crew" and I am seeking way too deeply into words... who doesn't?.... I figure that "Join Us" is about joining humanity, versus being alienated from it by one's own delusions.

Feel free to read my interpretations, below. (Notes included on not-finished ones, yet.)

  1. Can't Keep Johnny Down
  2. You Probably Get That a Lot
  3. Old Pine Box

TMBG History[edit]

I was introduced to them a few years ago, in about 2007. Someone told me to listen to Lincoln, and I did-- it was good, but I didn't stick too hard on it. Later, I Met someone else and became a good friend. It turned out later that he was a TMBG fan, and got me to listen to their stuff again.
