I have loved They Might Be Giants since hearing "Birdhouse In Your Soul" regularly on the Capital Radio breakfast show back in 1990 when I was studying at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. Having arranged it in five different versions for steel pan (drum) it remains in my repertoire and it seems likely that second to TMBG themselves I have performed it in public more than anyone else in the world as I reckon I have played it at least 500 times. you can see me play it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MtNMXb4JsKg and a clip of my version of "Sapphire Bullets" can be heard here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZxRtkwQ2rAY. A different version of this can be found on James K.Folk's They Pay Tribute album and both "Sapphire Bullets" and "Statue Got Me High" are featured on my latest album — Red Head — available here: http://robert-rankin.myshopify.com/products/red-head-cd-album

I am currently working on a year-long fan art project: Book of They. You can follow posts on the creation of the book on tumblr here: http://doctor-raygun.tumblr.com and join our friendly TMBG community page on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1584359315201792/
