The Long Winters is an indie rock band from Seattle, Washington, currently composed of John Roderick (guitar, vocals), Eric Corson (bass), Nabil Ayers (percussion), and Jonathan Rothman (keyboards). They contributed the song "The Commander Thinks Aloud" to Future Soundtrack For America, their song "Pushover" appears on Podcast 10A, and their cover of "Pet Name" appears as the second track on the Hello Radio tribute album. The Long Winters are signed to Barsuk Records, which released Future Soundtrack For America as well as TMBG's Indestructible Object.

John Roderick sang one of They Might Be Giants' unused Dunkin' Donuts songs, "8 AM". In 2011, he provided lead vocals for the song "Nemeses" on Jonathan Coulton's album Artificial Heart, which was produced by John Flansburgh.
