Working for the Man since 0 A.D.

Just so you peeps know, I, unregistered wanderer, had the idea for the "do not remove this line" line. So, yeah.--70.20.110.182 16:45, 16 Jan 2006 (EST)

Cool, cool

Please spell it right. It's a small thing, but it's mine.[edit]

"In the vestabule, all my best to you and yours."[edit]

I don't get it. -j2 who forgot to log in

it's a misspelling of the main line of the song Vestibule. though I don't know if there's something else that it's supposed to be... so I'm replacing it with an even weirder one. ~ magbatz 04:26, 31 January 2007 (UTC)
VesTABule, get it? Genius. -CapitalQtalk ♪ 04:47, 31 January 2007 (UTC)
I noticed that. But what does TAB have to do with TMBG? It's probably something really obvious that I'm just missing. -j2 who still has yet to log in
I'm assuming that "tab" is referring to a Guitar Tab...but, i'm not sure.

"If you close your eyes, the wiki is naked"
...is the best tagline ever. -Apollo

Can we make it an unofficial rule that no one can change the tagline RIGHT AFTER IT WAS CREATED? Because it isn't (or "it's not") (or "it'sn't") so fair for a homemade tagline to only be on the main page for, like, 20 minutes. Or whatever. -- Buzzmusic100 ("Keep your voice down...")

If people like the tagline, they won't change it. If it gets changed immediately, it's probably because a) It's not a very good tagline or b) Some not-a-good-fan fan didn't get it. Plus, it's just a tagline. They're archived forever! -Apollo. 02:04, 15 June 2010 (UTC)
This. Plus, you make like fifty million of them, do you really need every single one to be up there for a long time? Don't you have more important things to care about? --Self Called Nowhere 02:07, 15 June 2010 (UTC)
What do you mean? I'm not saying that every tagline needs to be there for a million years, but a non-vandalism and/or spam tagline should not be immediately changed. That's just rude! -- Buzzmusic100 ("Keep your voice down...")

Links in Taglines[edit]

What's wrong with it? Put it in the rules if there's a valid reason.

What's wrong with taking the links out if you want to? -Apollo (Phoebus!) 04:13, 15 November 2010 (UTC)
What's so bad about links in the first place? -- Buzzmusic100 ("Keep your voice down...")
...ok, um, for the record, this is really unimportant and does not deserve to be argued about, so I'm gonna get that out of the way first. But I think the main issue with links in taglines is that if there's a link it takes away the fun of guessing what it is (I know that you don't have to actually click the link, but I mean, really). Also it's not exactly pleasing to look at, plus wiki-tradition, and, you know, stuff. Besides, what's so great about having a link in the tagline? (rhetorical.) People just tend to have different opinions about various things, no one has to necessarily stop putting links in taglines or taking them out. -Apollo (Phoebus!) 16:50, 30 December 2010 (UTC)
I agree with you on why taglines with links are undesirable, but "why not make a tagline with a link" will always trump "why not edit someone else's tagline". Put it in the rules if there's a valid reason. ~ magbatz 16:56, 30 December 2010 (UTC)

Um....that's really stupid. It's ok for Flans to say it but not for us to reference it? Even when the person did the asterisks? This idea that we have to sanitize the wiki really bothers me... --Self Called Nowhere 01:38, 14 March 2011 (UTC)
Even with asterisks, I still think it might not be good for a (bleeped out but still sort of visible) bad word to be right on the main page. Especially that one. -- Buzzmusic100 ("Keep your voice down...")
for clarification: i don't endorse the position of censorship; i just wanted to avoid a fuss. however, that seems to have failed. --ant 02:07, 14 March 2011 (UTC)
I stand by my question: Why is it ok for Flans but not us? --Self Called Nowhere 02:04, 14 March 2011 (UTC)
yeah, I think it's ok. this is a wiki about a band that swears occasionally, so a temporary thing on the main page shouldn't be a big deal. -Apollo (colloquia!) 02:06, 14 March 2011 (UTC)

Haha! "Sandbox speaks my thoughts / test these templates for Q-Bot" Awesome tagline. -- Buzzmusic100 ("Keep your voice down...")

What song does this tagline allude to? Could anyone enlighten me? TMBW search + Google doesn't help. --Freakiosis (talk) 18:43, 16 April 2016 (EDT)

This is a reference to a track from last year's Dial-A-Song (2015) project called "Apophenia". The regular lyric is, "Picture of a hunched old lady holding a dog and telling you what to do". --MisterMe (talk) 01:17, 17 April 2016 (EDT)
