Talk:Toddler Hiway

"Hiway"[edit]

Okay, this probably isn't important to anyone but me. But I've always thought that it was a peculiar choice to so overtly misspell "Highway" in the song title. And then when TMBG named their 2004 tour "The Spine Hits the Hiway Tour," it just struck a chord with me. Is there something I'm missing? Is this some hilarious hilarious in-joke between the Johns? ~ magbatz

This is the one song that inevitably comes to mind whenever I have some awful song or jingle in my head and try to think of something else, or whenever I'm doing chores and try to think of some accompaniment music. Why? There are any number of songs I'd name before this if asked for a favorite. Would I, perhaps, if struck, resonate in "Toddler Hiway"?. - Satkomuni

(Live)[edit]

Should we make a Toddler Hiway (Live) page a la Alphabet Of Nations (Live)? --badqueso (talk) 11:24, 6 November 2013 (EST)

yeah i have one all drafted up and whatnot...it would be a good place to put that lyrics sheet and all. so i vote yes. Apollo (colloquia!) 15:23, 6 November 2013 (EST)
Seconded. As per Robert's Rules of Order, we now have the motion, a first, and a second. So moved, for whoever wants to take the initiative. :-D --MisterMe (talk) 15:35, 6 November 2013 (EST)

DAS[edit]

Wait, if this is the first DAS song, was it this same version that appeared on DAS or is there a DAS version that doesn't have a page? --ColorOfInfinity (talk) 18:25, 30 July 2021 (EDT)

There's no recordings of it so we can't know for sure, but we can take a guess. From JL's description it seems likely that the DAS version was just Flansburgh singing on the spot, probably acapella, right into the machine. That's like total speculation but he did do that a bunch. I'm not sure it needs its own page, unless a recording turns up. But it'd be crazy (and it's totally possible) if it turns out the recording on the album was really from like 83. --Batwho (talk) 22:51, 30 July 2021 (EDT)
