Talk:Things I Like To Do

From This Might Be A Wiki

Does anybody know where to find the full-length version of this song (if there even is one)?

The full-length version is one minute long, and is available on the song's download page. -CapitalQtalk ♪ 14:12, 8 May 2006 (CDT)

I was quite surprised when I saw this on TV the day after it was put online. Also, do these songs smell like "free coffee" to anyone else? --badqueso 01:38, 13 Apr 2006 (CDT)

Not really.[edit]

And are we sure that they're not Flansy in one of his not-normal voices for the rest of the song?

That is not John Flansburgh's voice. ;) -CapitalQtalk ♪ 23:04, 14 Apr 2006 (CDT)

Sounds like Xanthus[edit]

I'm sure his name is known, but the guy singing in the beginning sounds like whoever played Xanthus in People Are Wrong. Could just be me though... -Cronny

I thought that was who it sounded like too.

His name is David Driver, and I agree that is who it sounds like.

I got an email from someone this week pointing out to me that David Driver's website ([1]) lists "Dunkin' Donuts" as one of his credits. Anyone think this is conclusive enough evidence to list him as the singer, or at least as the singer with a question mark next to his name? --Duke33 13:06, 24 August 2009 (UTC)
It certainly sounds like Driver and I'd say the website credit makes it a pretty safe bet. Incidentally, Driver's website also has videos of some advertisements and short films he's done, several of which have music written by Marty and animation by Divya Srinivasan. Totally off topic but pretty neat. --BlueCanary 14:45, 24 August 2009 (UTC)

I cannot believe[edit]

Millions of people heard this song during the Super Bowl, that had better gain some fans.

Maybe it'll gain some Dunkin' Donuts fans... or specific fans of the song that go look for an MP3 somewhere. I can't imagine it generating any TMBG fans. -CapitalQtalk ♪ 05:31, 5 February 2008 (UTC)
Neither can I. There will always be a minority of viewers who'll find a jingle catchy, and even fewer who would like one so much that they'd try to figure out who sang it and want to listen to more of said artist's work. But stranger things have happened! --Ms Fernandez 06:46, 5 February 2008 (UTC)

MP3?[edit]

I have been searching everywhere for an mp3 download of Things I Like To Do. I came here and I thought I finally found it...but I guess I was wrong. Why is the page protected? Is there any way I can download it?

Unfortunately, there is not. One thing I think may confuse people is that creating a download page does not actually create a download. Just creates a blank download page, which would be considered vandalism. Not necessarily malicious vandalism, but it's stil a pain with which to deal. To be honest, tmbw used to offer downloads of the Dunkin' commercials along with several other commercially unavailable songs, but tmbg was forced by it's legal suits to ask the wiki to shut that service down. Hope that clears things up a bit. --Luke 11:27, 22 February 2008 (UTC)

Dan Weinkauf?[edit]

Anyone think that this could be Danny Weinkauf singing? --Duke33 13:52, 26 March 2008 (UTC)

Oh wow, after hearing Number Two you could be right, the voices are VERY similar. Neither sounds anything like Where Do They Make Balloons? but I've seen crazier voice changes from the Johns. --Luke 16:13, 26 March 2008 (UTC)
