Talk:The Spine Hits The Road

From This Might Be A Wiki

While I love the concept (the more obscure TMBG releases the better, I say), I can't say I'm terribly enthusiastic about the album itself. I'm very happy with my legally-downloaded Omaha Sokal Auditorium show, with its 30-or-so tracks and some great dialogue between songs. Eleven tracks is hardly extensive, to state the bleeding obvious. (Do smaller tracklistings work better with the iTunes format? I'm somewhat "out of the loop" as the cool kids say these days.) That said, if they ever release a physical copy through the TMBG store, I'm sold! - HappyBob

It SEEMS interesting enough, and I do rather like the album art, but personally I don't find myself too attracted to purchase by download a bunch of songs I already have. Physical copy? Maybe, but even then only for alternate live cuts.
The marketing appeal, I think, is strongest for people who were at the show, as a keepsake. amyloo
Plus, I shall take the time to say that, yes, I still hate Bastard Wants to Hit Me. I mean, unless it's included in a live rendition that makes up for the extremely obvious shortcomings of the version on The Spine (which, looking at the current tracklisting, doesn't seem to be), I have to wonder why they put it on. - TheNintenGenius
It could be because people other than you like the song. I'm sure They like the song. If I had a song I didn't like, I wouldn't put it on an album. - TVsKyle
Agreed on Bastard. It's the only track I'm inclined to skip on an otherwise excellent album. Why they favoured it over, say, Wearing a Raincoat is anyone's guess. I would only buy a physical copy because I am - in a strictly metaphorical sense - an anal completist. Luckily, this mysterious "2004 live cd" should make the entire issue irrelevant. - HappyBob

Is there any way to download this without having to download the itune program first? My computer isn't even fast enough to run it.

The Live Almanac is another Spine Tour CD, with many more songs. It looks pretty cool. I might get it someday. (Turnip) 18:59, 10 Mar 2006 (CST)

Are any of the tracks the same recordings as the live Free Tunes MP3s? Akagi 05:45, 16 July 2007 (UTC)
