From This Might Be A Wiki

TMBG were supporting Elvis Costello and the Attractions on this show (and other ones after this), shouldn't they be listed as 'opening act' and Costello as the main act?

I dunno, it would be weird. Since we're showing the setlist and comments about TMBG's set, it would be strange to make the Main Act some band other than the one who the page is about. And since the show page header is a standard template we use, we tend to just keep TMBG as the act. Sometimes to account for this we'll put "Opened for Elvis Costello" or "Costello headlined" in the opening act section, so if you want to do that to show they were Costello shows, you're welcome to. But I think our current way of showing this is the best way personally (except some like this show where Linnell and the Statesmen opened for TMBG still look a little wrong to me). ~ magbatz 21:05, 8 December 2008 (UTC)
Yeah, it's probably better the way it is now. This is from a bootleg on dimeadozen:
They Might Be Giants
New York, NY
Beacon Theatre
August 7, 1995
Opening for Elvis Costello and The Attractions.
In August 1995 EC and The Attractions played five stand alone shows at the Beacon Theater in New York City - sort of rehearsal gigs before the recording of All This Useless Beauty. TMBFG opened all five shows. This is the last night. Great show. Sounds terrific. Five songs not played at the August 2nd show.
01. Particle Man
02. AKA Driver
03. She's Actual Size
04. Purple Toupee
05. No One Knows My Plan
06. The Guitar
07. Shoehorn With Teeth
08. Birdhouse In Your Soul
09. Snail Shell
10. Why Does The Sun Shine?
11. She's An Angel
12. Spy
So looking at the shows page, I'm guessing it wasn't five but seven shows in a row (august 1-7)
