In the mid part of the career Flans has started writing songs that really revolve around his voice. Allowing him to sing in a rather sickly pretty pretty voice the downside is there really is no interesting musical backing. The bike as a deity seems forced. Another Flans filler. I wonder if Linnell minds. (mr Tuck)

I also agree. The song is beautiful. I always get chills listening to this song. I think the only filler on John Henry is "opinion filler"...some songs on the album work for others while others don't. This song works for me. :) - Overjoy

This is interesting... on 4-12-08 at 9:05 am, this song is the step above its (other thing) counterpart in the ratings list. I think it's fascinating mostly because the "other thing" version is much better, and should be a step above the john henry version. Mr. 77
