Chock Full o'Nuts Jingle

Anyone else notice the similarity of this song to the jingle for Chock Full o' Nuts coffee? (the website has a whole bunch of stylized versions in the history section, but you can still notice the similarities somewhat)

"Chock full o' Nuts is that heavenly coffee, heavenly coffee, heavenly coffee,
Chock full o' Nuts is that heavenly coffee,
Better coffee a millionaire's money can't buy"

It is the same version as on Direct From Brooklyn, and you're absolutely correct, this song appears to be a parody of, or is at least inspired by the Chock Full O' Nuts jingle. -CapitalQ ♫ talk ♪ 14:42, 24 Apr 2006 (CDT)

According to Chock Full O' Nuts's FAQ page, the jingle was taken from Wayne and Bruce Silbert's song, "That Heavenly Feeling." So rather than TMBG copying the jingle (which would be impossible anyway because the jingle was released after the TMBG song), they probably were taking from that song, although I haven't actually heard it. And furthermore, as User:74.78.255.57 points out, the previous statement is incredibly wrong. The jingle was pre-John. ~ magbatz 19:36, 24 Apr 2006 (CDT)

was just listening to this for the 47th time and it occurred to me to wonder: is the electronic sound in the background a stylophone? it sounds like it could be conceivably be one slowed down a lot... when i get home i'll try doing that myself, but what do others think? -- 00:47, 26 July 2009 (UTC)

Linnell's improv

I just want to point out how adorable it is that Linnell can't improvise (lyrically) to save his life. Flans is so brilliant at it (see every Spin the Dial ever) and John, um, tries...This song is a perfect example of that, the Flans part is amazing and then John is like, "Um, I'll sing what's happening in the video!" I've always thought a better title would be "A Crybaby Song (Message Is Written In Heavenly Bodies)"

In fact, I think the only time this easter egg has been mentioned by the band was Cecil calling it "Messages Written". ~ magbatz
