Talk:A Song-By-Song Drive-Through Of Mink Car

From This Might Be A Wiki

I think we should make a new category for articles or something like that. What does anyone else think? I looked around, and i don't think we have one. --Duke33 19:16, 14 July 2009 (UTC)

I really like this idea. Also, would there be a way to find and archive old articles? Or would there be some sort of copyright restriction on doing that? --MichelleMaBelle 05:33, 15 July 2009 (UTC)
I think archiving is fine, legally (from my not-at-all legal perspective). The way I see it (again not-really-law-based): From TMBG websites or stuff They've written, definitely. From websites and publications, probably. From TMBG fans who themselves have archived fun things, definitely-but-it's-always-nice-to-ask. And yes verily to articles category-- we should make interviews a sub-cat too. ~ magbatz 06:44, 15 July 2009 (UTC)
I also really like the idea of an articles/interviews category. I have been wondering for a while why there isn't one. The wiki has archived lots of great stuff direct from the band but a comprehensive collection of articles and interviews from outside sources would be most welcome. However, archiving articles from other sites and publications is a copyright violation if you reprint them in their entirety. You can quote from an article or link to an article but you can not copy the complete text without the author or publication's permission even if you give them credit. I wonder though if we might be able to have a listing of articles and interviews with links to where to read them, as linking is allowed except where prohibited by a site's terms and conditions? Or in the case of articles not available online, we might even be able to get permission from the publication if one was feeling particularly ambitious. Thoughts? --BlueCanary 15:57, 15 July 2009 (UTC)
