Dave Davies was in the Kinks, one of John Linnell's favorite groups. Also, I would recommend John Entwistle's album "Smash Your Head Against the Wall," as his sense of humor is similar to that of TMBG's. Todd Rundgren is another of my favorite artists, and I think the average TMBG fan would like most of his stuff. Get "Something/Anything" and one of his greatest hits packages before delving into the rest of his long career.
