Chip the CHiP
Chip the CHiP
Is he human or is he a beast?
He’s the ugliest sworn officer in the
California Highway Police
If you drive too fast he’ll eat your face
Pass him on the left he’ll eat your face
And if you talk back he will eat what’s left
of your face, Chip the CHiP

There he is, in pursuit
it’s his favorite part of the gig
Chip the CHiP is so hungry
his lunch is gonna be
everything under your wig
though you don’t deserve what’s coming next
I hope your life was filled with happiness
you’re going to briefly spend what’s left of it
with the CHiP, Chip the CHiP

Life in prison would be better than the teeth
of the CHiP, Chip the CHiP
Lethal injection would be a welcome relief
from the CHiP, Ch ch ch CHiP

Alright pull it over!
Do you know why I stopped you?
Cause I thought maybe you could tell me why I stopped you.

After work he’ll relax
lying face down in toxic waste
when he’s completely burned he will shed and wait
for his skin to regenerate
now the sight of him might gross you out
so if your eye offends you poke it out
if your remaining eye offends poke out
the offending other eyeball as well
If you drive too fast he’ll eat your face
Pass him on the left he’ll eat your face
And if you talk back he will eat what’s left
of your face, Chip the CHiP

"Greetings from John F. from somewhere between Eugene and Portland, Oregon. What a wonderful joy this season of touring is. These days have been a delirious dream of great venues, great audiences, and great shows. The band has tightened up around so much new material and Curt Ramm’s trumpet playing has just taken so many songs to another level. We recently started expanding the repertoire of songs in the Quiet Storm section and it is extremely satisfying.

If you are unaware, we’re the same band but the sets on this tour really has become a very new show. All these shows are “An Evening With TMBG” which means we start early with no opening act and play two sets. We have plenty of time to play all the favorites but we think you’ll be surprised at the variety of what’s going on. The show evolves every night and includes a wide array of deep cuts and brand new songs from I Like Fun. As we have done album shows of Apollo 18, Flood, Lincoln, and Mink Car in the last few years, we are able to include far more catalog than you might expect."

The I Left My Body video contest deadline has arrived and the submissions are being reviewed. Watch this space.

The Dial-A-Song Radio Network is growing. If you are a community, college, or commercial terrestrial radio DJ participate! John and John are making IDs and doing interviews with network shows, and of course all shows are serviced with the latest from Dial-A-Song.

And here is some news that will warm the hearts of our neighbors to the north: CANADA! It's unofficial but true! They Might Be Giants is planning its very first proper tour of CANADA! Will audiences be willing to momentarily put aside their Canadian content and embrace the alternative rock of Brooklyn’s Ambassadors of Love? Only time will tell! Although we won't have dates for a moment, and the shows aren't until the fall, this really is in the works. Help us make it work. Spread the good news and tell/warn your Canadian friends.

Why is the world in love again? They Might Be Giants have released I Like Fun, a remarkable 15-track album. Get it direct from TMBG at http://bit.ly/ILikeFun on LP, CD or instant download.I Like Fun jumps with surprises, vitality, and the startling point of view of these Brooklyn originals. Over a year in the making, songwriters and band founders John Linnell and John Flansburgh draw on themes of dread, death, and disappointment and set them to their driving, hyper-melodic music. The results will leave even the most heavy-hearted among us with a renewed sense of wonder. Fresh and sonically adventurous, the band’s command of the studio and the song is in rare form from beginning to end. On I Like Fun, the spotlight is also on the band’s formidable long-standing live lineup; drummer Marty Beller, bassist Danny Weinkauf and lead guitarist Dan Miller. While the group enjoys a reputation for delivering one of the liveliest shows around, the album accomplishes the rare feat of capturing that ecstatic intensity on disc. Co-produced with and mixed by Patrick Dillett (St. Vincent, Donald Fagen, The National, Mary J. Blige), the album was tracked and mixed at the brand-new Reservoir Studios—site of the legendary Skyline Studios where TMBG recorded their platinum-selling album Flood.
