MUSIC JAIL, PT. 1 & 2

Where you going buddy?
Where you going buddy?
Where you going buddy?
Won’t you come with me to music jail?

Where you going darlin'?
Where you going darlin'?
Where you going darlin'?
Won’t you come with me to music jail?
Let’s form a band! Let’s take a stand!

Where you going fellah?
Where you going fellah?
Where you going fellah?
Won’t you come with me to music jail?
Please say you’ll stay! Don’t turn away!

I was not prepared to do time to do time
Frankly I was scared about time about time
I was in a cloud. Everything so loud
Life’s a riot. No one’s quiet at all

In this music crowd I’m alone, I’m alone
Just one call allowed. No one’s home. No one’s home
I am getting pale. Who could post my bail?
Done believing. Dreams of leaving are gone

ANNOUNCING THE "ERASE" VIDEO CONTEST!
BLACK FRANCIS OF THE PIXIES TO JUDGE!

They Might Be Giants’ Dial-A-Song project is sponsoring its first video contest for the song "ERASE." To help raise awareness of this great song we're going to have a video contest open to all video people, film people and generally visually-minded people who are open to the challenge. After these three amazing winning videos for the "AM I AWAKE?" video contest, the new winners will be in good company, but the bar is high indeed.

These are the rules: Originality a must. Brilliance encouraged.

DEADLINE IS APRIL 7th. There will be 3 winners. $1000 cash prize to each winner. All three winning videos will be posted on
TMBG's www.DialASong.com and on TMBG's YouTube channel

Here’s the songhttp://dialasong.com/songs/erase

WHAT WE'D SUGGEST TO ANYONE FOR ANY VIDEO:

Poetry, not prose.
If there is a story, have an ending.
Don’t feel compelled to illustrate the lyric, but use the lyric as a springboard for your concept.
If you do illustrate the words, figure out a way to avoid doing it at the moment they are sung — the see/say can feel dumpy.

It can work many ways: beautiful, startling, bold, stylish, contemporary, psychedelic, mind-bending.
Transparency effects are nice, motion graphics can be exciting.
Live action, animation, multi-media -- anything is possible!
Express YOURSELF in your favorite medium.

If there is any humor we would suggest it should be the deadest of the deadpan.

The topic should not be John and John, and representations of the band are discouraged.

All imagery must be original. Incorporating copyrighted images will disqualify your work

HOW IT'S JUDGED
All submissions must be uploaded in HD on Vimeo.com with password protection before the contest deadline.
You must then send us a message via email to videocontest@tmbg.com and be sure to include a direct link and
a password along with your full name, email address, and phone number (strictly for contact purposes should
you be chosen as the winner -- we promise not to telemarket our t-shirt collection to you).

All judging will be done by the great Judge Black Francis of the Pixies.

You can check the rest of the "Am I Awake" finalists at https://vimeo.com/album/2847837
