April 18 in NYC at Tonic

A NOTE FROM FLANSBURGH:
Hey everybody -
Back from rainy L.A. recording sessions to enjoy some wonderful springiness in NYC.

Podcast 6B is up, and includes a bunch of tracks we hope you'll find interesting:
Contrecoup from the late great NPR show the Next Big Thing, a new track exclusive to this podcast called Sketchy Galore and there is a rare track from the late, great TMBG Unlimited called Chaos by Design by the band Colorwheel. In the words of Dan Miller, there are some "smokin'" live tracks, too, just to get you in the mood for the tour. Hopefully we'll be able to get some new recordings with the band in for your podcasting enjoyment as we roll down the road. Podcast 6C perhaps...?

To respond to some inquiries from y'all: we have to take down the old podcasts as new ones cycle in, simply because the demand is overwhelming our server bandwidth (which we thought was pretty beefy, but apparently not nearly beefy enough!) With the ever-increasing number of subscribers, the unexpected cost of this project is, well, let's just say it's a whole lot more than the old yard sale dial-a-song phone machine! Of course, these are the kind of problems any band would love to have, but we hope everyone understands that we aren't able to offer downloads of all the archived podcast material to late-coming subscribers. We will eventually be making some of these podcast songs available for purchase in higher-fidelity through theymightbegiants.com. We are also considering a compilation of the best of the podcast material on some kind of year-end disc, so if you are worried that this stuff is all going away into the ether when your iTunes crashes, don't fret - we assure you Idlewild Recordings will make a nice package for all the completists.

Hope to see you out there!"
