Lyrics Talk:Vestibule

The only reason Arlen Specter became a Democrat is because TMBG put him in one of their songs.

Does "Cast Your Pod To The Wind" have liner notes with lyrics? I could've sworn the lyric was "Yelling vents/ the intelligence/that my skeleton's between doors" but it's here as "Yell in vents". TheSkullHead 16:34, 30 November 2012 (EST)

Cast Your Pod, unfortunately, did not come with lyrics (or any information, for that matter). for this lyric, it sounds more like "Yell in vents" to me, plus that seems to make more sense. I don't know, though. ~veggieman, not logged in
One vote for "yelling". Both lines conceivably make sense, BUT in my opinion "yelling" is an infinitely better line. It's a cool complex line grammatically that describes the hopelessness and inefficacy of the situation and detaches the narrator from any sense of action (he talks about what's going on with his skeleton rather than personally taking credit for existing). While still both lines could contain a sense of passiveness and detachment (since "yelling" simply describes something being done in a low-energy way and "yell" chops the "I" off the sentence), I think the latter implies more directly the narrator taking action. Also "yelling" starting the line just sounds elegant and Linnellian and metaphorical, while "yell" sounds like something out of the Power Rangers theme song. And the way physical vents are curtly introduced to the layout of the room suggests a less claustrophobic environment, thus venting (ho ho) the pressure that could lead to the narrator's germ-collecting insanity. Oh and by the way I just listened to the robot performance, and I personally hear John's mouth doing "yelling" both times. ~ magbatz 13:56, 1 December 2012 (EST)
