They Might Be Giants - Erase[edit]
From a sonic point of view it could almost of been recorded the day after Rest Awhile. Not a bad song from Mr Linnell, almost retro in its structure, however it does (almost) sound like someone doing an impression of the Giants. Perhaps a bit Giants by numbers. Obviously worked out on a piano and then moved onto to full guitars for the full band, which is fine, but I think it would have worked better with horns. Lyrically, typically oblique, I just wonder if Linnell will write some more direct songs over this Dial a Song Project. I hope so. I'd also like some old fashioned Giants, with just the two Johns. (Mr Tuck)

might the broken up ("erased") lines be better represented this way?

i think in general it's preferable and better communicates the nature of these lines in a more succinct fashion, but m dashes don't often translate well to monospace fonts. Apollo (colloquia!) 00:57, 14 January 2015 (EST)
