Interpretations:Where Do They Make Balloons?

From This Might Be A Wiki

Interpretation 1[edit]

The real answer to the question "where do they make balloons" is, of course, "in a really depressing factory in China." --perpetualent.com 16:46, June 14, 2004

Interpretation 2[edit]

Another musical Beatles reference, this time to Getting Better at the very end. --ASL 10:56, February 18, 2006

Interpretation 3[edit]

Just going to show off some of my knowledge. This song says a lot of factual (and some opinionated) things!

  • Marmalade's from Scotland
  • Rugs from Pakistan
  • [Not sure about these 2, help me out!]
  • Mexico has jumping beans
  • [True, the beans jump due to larve embedded in them]
  • And cars are from Japan
  • [Some cars are, some would say the best, not me.]
  • Clowns are from the circus
  • [Actally, they originated from the French stage]
  • Barking comes from dogs
  • [DUH!]
  • Eggs come from a chicken
  • [Not ALL eggs!]
  • And log cabins come from logs
  • [another DUH!]
  • New York has tall buildings
  • [True, but no more or less than many large cities]
  • New Jersey has its malls
  • [Not sure about this one, who knows?]
  • Pisa has a leaning tower
  • [True!]
  • Will it ever fall?
  • [Mere Speculation]
  • The ocean has the fishes
  • [True, but poor grammer. The plural of fish is "fish". They're also found in freshwater, for that matter.] (Edit: Actually, "fishes" is the correct plural when refering to many fish of different species.)
  • London has a tower
  • [Has a few,actually! Which one?]
    • [Possibly the Tower of London. Makes sense]
  • In Holland they have windmills,
  • Lots of bikes, and pretty flowers
  • [They have windmills and lots of bikes, but the idea that tulips are "pretty" is up for debate]
  • Spaghetti is from China
  • But Italians make it best
  • [True. In China, it's called "lo mein", and tends to be softer than spaghetti. Some say the Italians stole the idea from the Chinese.]
  • Ants can make an anthill
  • [yet another DUH!]
  • And monkeys make a mess
  • [Yes, but what KIND of mess?]
  • Hungary isn't hungry
  • [True!]
  • And french fries aren't from France
  • [True, they're Belgian!]
  • Turkeys aren't from Turkey
  • [not sure on this one, help me out!]
    • [I don't think so. In the words of Marge Simpson: "Which came first, turkey the bird or Turkey the you guys?" Note: This quote came shortly before Istanbul (Not Constantinople) was played]
  • They can't fly but they can dance
  • [1st part true, 2nd part mere speculation]
  • Feel free to fix my mistakes! - [jkazoo]
    • OK, edited a bit --Jnelson09 19:44, May 25, 2006

Interpretation 4[edit]

The real question this song asks is, "Why doesn't Danny Weinkauf sing more?" —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.121.245.183 (talkcontribs) 20:02, January 29, 2007

Interpretation 5[edit]

Holland has lots of DIKES (the kind that hold back water, not the lesbian kind, though I'm sure they have their share of those too, especially in Amsterdam). Marco Polo brought pasta back from China to Italy. also, turkeys CAN fly. they roost in trees at night. ~iemordnilapi 11:41, September 16, 2009
