Guitar Tab Talk:Older

From This Might Be A Wiki

CapitalQ... would you care to explain why you felt it neccessary to point out that the chords were 5ths (that is, if I look at the history right, you were the one who added it)? I thought it was standard convention to assume that all chords are 5ths unless otherwise noted, either that or I am really forgetting something. --Fasterthanyou

I didn't modify the existing tab, I pasted another tab on top of it that had diagrams for the chords (which was helpful for me at the time since I knew nothing about which chords were which). Figured it would just be more useful in the future. -CapitalQtalk ♪ 23:03, 21 February 2007 (UTC)
I admit that writing the forms itself is useful especially for the beginners who don't yet have the callouses built up to consistently play bar chords, the only thing confusing is where it says D5(Dm), every other time, it was the exact same chord but without going into details, a D is x,x,0,2,3,2 while a Dm is x,x,0,2,3,1
Doesn't really make a difference if your just playing the D and the G string though.
Point is, it would probably make most seasoned guitar players tilt their heads a bit, since that 5 is kind of like using a grammatically valid but unnecessary comma before using the word 'and' in a sentence. Was I correct to assume you are not (or were not at the time of editing it) a seasoned guitar player?--Fasterthanyou 23:20, 21 February 2007 (UTC)
You are completely correct in that assumption, and like I said, I just pasted a tab I found on Google over the existing tab and didn't attempt to modify it or anything. Feel free to fix its confusingness. -CapitalQtalk ♪ 23:27, 21 February 2007 (UTC)
