  • Regarding the percussion in this song, Flansburgh described the tambourine sequence as "very even/robotic/hocket-y back and forth," and explained that "it is just a homemade sample of me hitting a tiny tambourine and being played back as eighth notes. There is a china cymbal and a half-broken maraca that are also 'self-sampled' and both sped up AND slowed down, and then there is Mr. Marty Beller playing the rest of the part."[1]
